Mairéad has taken many summer courses at the New York Film Academy. Previously, she has taken Acting for Film, both intermediate and advanced levels. She has attended the 3-week Musical Theatre intensive 3 times, taking voice classes from Bway veteran Kristy Cates, and dance and acting classes from other Broadway actors (a masterclass in dance from Deidre Goodwin). Summer of 2020 she virtually attended the online 1-week musical theatre program.
Mairéad studied for four years at The Ailey School, taking weekly classes in Ballet, Tap, and West African Dance.
Mairéad studied hip hop, modern dance, ballet, and tap at Midtown West, an arts-integrated elementary school. Mairéad took a four week musical theatre intensive with Manhattan Youth/Waterwell where she took classes in all different styles of theatre dance. She has taken various drop in classes from various studios. Mairéad also takes drop-in classes at Broadway Dance Center. She has very basic training in Russian ballet from the New York Film Academy. At LaGuardia High School, she regularly takes Dance and movement classes.
Mairéad has been taking voice lessons with Heidi Siegell since 2016, and private lessons with Tracey Grimaldi since 2021. She worked one on one with music teacher John Prestianni at LaGuardia High School. She took piano and music theory with Margaret Pine from 2013-2015. She also studies guitar privately. As well as private lessons, Mairéad took classes in music at her schools from kindergarten-grade 8. She was a member of her middle school's Glee club for three years.
Mairéad is a self-taught intermediate level ukulelist and has basic drummer capabilities. She is taught guitar by her father, Brian O'Neill, member of the folk music ensemble Minus Ted.
