Born and raised in
New York City,
Mairéad O'Neill is a versatile NYC & Boston based actor/singer/musician. She is a recent graduate of the Boston University School of Theatre, where she received her BFA in Acting, and is an alum of LaGuardia Arts High School (aka the ‘FAME’ school!). Mairéad is a proud SAG-AFTRA member; she is represented by CLA Partners (Manager) and Boals Winnett & Associates (Legit Agent). She currently is freelancing with DDO Artists for Voiceover.
Regional theatre credits include work all across the NY & Boston areas! A huge champion of new work, Mairéad has helped to develop projects at SpeakEasy Stage (BOS), Boston Playwrights Theatre, Keen Company (NYC), & The Theater Center (NYC). Mairéad is also a writer; in addition to writing her first album, she is currently writing a feature-length mockumentary, with plans to start production in late 2026. (When Words Fail, a short film she helped write and develop at age 13 was awarded the PLURAL+ 2017 Peacemaker Corps Award by the UN!)

You can hear her on Gen-Z Media’s Webby & Peabody-winning 'Mars Patel' podcast and TOMORROW: The Continuing Adventures of Annie Warbucks (alongside Laura Benanti!). Mairéad is a devoted voice geek and would be happy to talk with you about accents and dialects, or to share her now viral Elmo impression.

Mairéad loves to live life to the fullest and experience as much of the world as she can - she studied Shakespeare/Classical text at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and trained in Clown and Roy Hart Voice at the Accademia dell’Arte in Italy. Her favorite place she visited while studying abroad was Salzburg, Austria (#1 Sound of Music fan). In July, she will visit Portland, Maine for the first time - playing Banquo in Shit-Faced Shakespeare’s regional tour of MACBETH!

Beyond the stage, you can find her teaching Yoga Sculpt classes, designing websites for clients, writing new music on guitar, dialect coaching whenever she can, and posting to her 16k+ TikTok following @mayreedie. She's an avid fan of chocolate & strawberries, and her biggest goal in life is to amplify female voices as much as humanly possible. Thanks for visiting!
“I love the theater as much as music, and the whole idea of getting across to an audience and making them laugh, making them cry - just making them feel -
is paramount to me.”

I was mesmerized by [O'Neill and Dougan's] electrifying stage presence, infused with controlled energy, unflagging focus, and the volatile chemistry of youth. They both “kill”... I’d be surprised if they did not ascend, as their craft continues to evolve, to more prominent public awareness.
BROADWAYWORLD review of two-hander "I And You" @ Penguin Repertory Theatre

Julie Boyd,
The New School
“She is flexible and creative.
She loves the arts and works to live as a lifelong student.
She will inspire by example.
She is a self-starter. She listens. She
makes helpful suggestions.
She is an incredibly talented actress… Treat yourself and hire her.”

Joe Brancato,
Artistic Director,
Penguin Rep
"Watching her hone her work on stage was inspiring for all the staff and designers...Her sincere and mature approach exhibited that rare quality of great work ethic and joy for the experience."
