ACTOR | SINGER

About
website background.png

Born and raised in
New York City,

Mairéad O'Neill is a Boston & NYC based actor, singer, and all-around creative. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, an alumni of LaGuardia Arts High School (the ‘FAME’ school), and a rising senior at Boston University’s School of Theatre, obtaining her BFA in Acting. Mairéad is represented by Boals, Winnett & Associates Agency.

Mairéad’s credits span venues across the NY & Boston areas, recently having played Caroline in I AND YOU at Penguin Repertory Theatre, directed by Bway vet Tom Caruso. A champion of new works, she's also been in several staged readings at Boston Playwrights Theatre, SpeakEasy Stage, and The Snapple Theater in NYC. She just made her Boston regional theatre debut in the world premiere of SOFT STAR in Boston Playwright’s Theatre Fall 2024 Repertory.

You can hear Mairéad’s voice in the Webby and Peabody award-winning Gen-Z Media podcasts “The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel” and “TOMORROW: The Continuing Adventures of Annie Warbucks” (alongside Laura Benanti & Alan Ruck). A total musical geek, she has lended her voice to demos of new musicals, radio plays, commercials, albums, and short film soundtracks, and has performed at Feinstein's/54 Below thrice! Mairéad is also a songwriter, and LOVES an open mic.

She just studied classical text & Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music And Dramatic Art, and will be studying at the Accademia dell'Arte in Italy in July.

In her spare time she is a certified Yoga Sculpt instructor, runs a content creation business, and has a small but mighty TikTok following of 15k+ @mayreedie.

I was mesmerized by [O'Neill and Dougan's] electrifying stage presence, infused with controlled energy, unflagging focus, and the volatile chemistry of youth. They both “kill”... I’d be surprised if they did not ascend, as their craft continues to evolve, to more prominent public awareness.

BROADWAYWORLD review of two-hander "I And You" @ Penguin Repertory Theatre

Julie Boyd,

The New School

 “She loves the arts and

works to live as a lifelong student.

She will inspire by example.

She is an incredibly talented actress… Treat yourself and hire her.”

Joe Brancato,

Artistic Director,

Penguin Rep

"Watching her hone her work on stage was inspiring for all the staff and designers...Her sincere and mature approach exhibited that rare quality of great work ethic and joy for the experience."

Tom Caruso,

Broadway Director

"I have directed Mairead and find her to be a brilliant actress with a top notch work ethic.
She is a true professional... exceedingly skilled and talented beyond her years."
